What Can You Eat On A Clear Liquid Diet?
What Can You Eat On A Clear Liquid Diet? What Can You Eat On A Clear Liquid Diet? By: Rheza SulaimanIf your doctor has placed you on a clear liquid diet, you may be wondering if you are literally limited to water. A clear liquid diet actually refers to liquids which you can see through. For example, lemonade has a color, but you can see through it and thus it is okay for such a diet.Acceptable things for such a diet are apple, cranberry and grape juices, lemonade and limeade (as long as all pulp is strained out), tea, honey, gelatin, ices, Popsicles and broth (be sure there are no noodles or other solid pieces of any kind.) You may also suck on hard candies and drink water. Milk, citrus and all solid foods are NOT included as acceptable foods.Patients may be placed on this type of diet to treat vomiting or diarrhea. This is a temporary diet that should only be used for medical reasons as directed by your doctor. When on the diet to treat diarrhea, you will want to take in as many clear liquids as possible.
